Ex-PSM Focus

                 • Globalization Insight: The impacts of globalization on Thailand can be felt from a national to an individual level. Globalization has changed the socioeconomic landscape, in which organizations operate. It has transformed the rules that determine business competition. New opportunities are emerging for the capable; meanwhile unfamiliar threats seem to be more omnipresent. In such a changing world, the public sector role has not diminished, yet it needs to be re-shaped in response to new challenges. On the other hand, performance of the private sector is increasingly tested as their services and products are now competing in the globally integrated market. And at the same time, new actors such as transnational companies, credit rating agencies, international and non-profit organizations are becoming more influential in determining outcomes of several global issues. Ex-PSM aims keep “Future Leaders” updated on the latest trends of global issues, to analyze impact of such issues on their organizations; and to come up with effective strategies to tackle these external challenges.

               • Adaptive Organization: Adaptive capacity has become the key to determine organizations’ survival in an open economy. Yet, the question remains how we should adjust. Thailand’s bureaucratic system has been undergoing several reforms to become more efficient and supportive to economic development driven by the private sector. Business enterprises need to adjust in order to strengthen their performances. However, changes within organizations are always challenged by resistance. Therefore, Ex-PSM will help “Future Leaders” to have a clear mindset to formulate a vision and strategy for a successful organizational restructuring process.

               • Platform for Networking: FPRI believes that a better communication between the public and the private sectors is vital for the process of economic development of the country. Therefore, we would like to promote a strong partnership between two sides through Ex-PSM by providing a discussion platform for our participants to exchange views and experiences. In effect, this will give rise to a network that will be useful for the future careers of participants.
