Ex-PSM Instructors

                 1. Dr. George Abonyi, is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Public Administration and Executive Education Program, Maxwell School, Syracuse University, based in Ottawa and Bangkok. He also has been Senior Advisor to various programs at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) since 1992. His corporate advisory work in Asia focuses on Competitive and Investment Strategy, Project Finance, and Corporate Restructuring.

        He has held senior academic and research positions at the University of Ottawa, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), National University of Singapore/ Harvard University (MPP/Program), and the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies in Singapore. He gives lectures and has several of his works published on Asia-related issues.

              2. Dr. Atipol Bhanich Supapol, is an Associate Professor and Head of Economics at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He teaches in the MBA and International MBA and the Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA programs. He also delivers some specialized courses in the fields of Project Finance & Privatization, Public Sector Management, Business Economics, and Business Strategy. While his published papers cover the areas such as international finance, international technologies transfer, public policy, he has also worked with variety of public, private and non-governmental organizations in Thailand, United States and Canada.

                 3. Dr. Dipak Jain, is a Dean Sandy Morton Goldman Professor in Entrepreneurial Studies and a Professor of marketing at the Kellogg School, where he has been a member of since 1987. His research areas range from marketing of high-tech products; market segmentation and competitive market structure analysis; cross-cultural issues in global product diffusion; new product diffusion; to forecasting models. More than 30 articles of his have been published in leading academic journals. Dr. Jain has also worked as a special consultant on marketing and management strategies for many leading companies such as Microsoft, Motorola, Hyatt International and Boeing.

                 4. Dr. Larry Schroeder, is a Professor of Public Administration Maxwell Professor of Teaching Excellence, and Senior Research Associate in the Global Affairs Institute at the Maxwell School, Syracuse University. He is a public finance economist with primary interest in state and local public finance and financial management. He has conducted research on fiscal issues of State and local government both in the U.S. and aboard. Much of his current research is directed at public finance issues arising in developing and transition economies.

                 5. Dr. André deCarufel, is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour/Industrial Relations, Executive Director, Joint Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA Program. His specialization lies in the area of Organizational Behavior and Industrial Relations. He produced over 20 major consulting reports for clients in private and public sector which mostly based on experimental and finite element methods.

                 6. Dr. Michael J. Wasylenko, is a Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Administration for the Maxwell School, Professor of Economics, Syracuse University. While Dr. Wasylenko excels in topics such as Taxation, Business Location Decisions, he is also an expert in Public Finance, Urban Economics. He had served as chief economist in major economic institutions such as National Tax Association and American Economic Association.

                 7. Dr. Adam D. Galinsky, is a Morris and Alice Kaplan Professor of Ethics and Decision in Management at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University since 2007. His area of research ranges from inter group relations, stereotyping, and stigma, counterfactual thinking and decision making, negotiations and conflict resolution, and social cognition. Dr. Galinsky is well recognized by various distinguished academic institutions such as the Academy of Management and the Carnegie Mellon University, at the same time, his articles have been published in numbers of prominent academic journals.

                 8. Dr. Olarn Chaipravat, is currently an Honorary Advisor to the Fiscal Policy Research Institute Foundation. He used to served as Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand in 2008. He also acts Chairman of Working Committee on Monitoring and Evaluating Economic Situation of Ministry of Finance. He used to hold several reputable positions in the financial sector and private companies. For example, he served as Governor of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, Director of PTT Public Company Limited, and Director of Thai Oil Public Company Limited.

                 9. Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee, a former Commerce Minister of Thailand, is currently an Honorary Advisor to the Fiscal Policy Research Institute Foundation. He is also Chairman of Seranee Holdings Co., Ltd, advisor to Deputy P.M. on Economic Affairs; President of Schiller-Stamford International College; Board Member and Council of Trustees of Thailand Development Research Institute; Board Advisor of Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand (IFCT); Vice Chairman of PBEC and a lecturer of Institutes and Universities and Chairman of the Board, Export-Import Bank of Thailand. His past positions include Thailand Senator and Chairman of General Finance & Securities Plc., advisor to several Prime Ministers, and Thailand's Representative of APEC/EPG. He received Ph.D. in Economics from Johns Hopkins and was Dean of Thammasat University, Economics Faculty; a consultant to the World Bank, ADB, UN-ESCAP, and an executive of IFCT.

                 10. Dr. Kanit Sangsubhan, is the Director of the Fiscal Policy Research Institute. He previously served as Director of the Overall Planning Division at the National Economic and Social Development Board. He was an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce (Dr. Supachai Panitchapakdi). His fields of expertise include Macroeconomics, Industrial Development, and Regional Cooperation on particular aspects, notably macroeconomic management and competitiveness strategies.

                 11. Dr. Pich Nitsamer, is a Deputy Director of the Fiscal Policy Research Institute Foundation. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Executive Vice President, SCB Research Institute, Thailand and Deputy Director of Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), Thailand. His expertise is in trade and investment policy, trade negotiations and Macroeconomics. Dr. Nitsamer has several research papers mostly related to Thailand’s Free Trade Agreement.

                 12. Dr. Arthur C. Brooks, is the President of the American Enterprise Institute. His previous academic position included Louis A. Bantle Professor of Business and Government Policy at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and Whitman School of Management. Dr. Brooks has published approximately 100 articles and books on the connections between culture, politics, and economic life in America. His famous provocative new book, Gross National Happiness, describes the great divide between the happy and the unhappy in America, largely due to the differences in social and cultural values of our country. Dr. Brook used be a lecturer for Ex-PSM  Program from the beginning till Ex-PSM 4.  His specializations include Economic Analysis of Public Policy, Managerial Economics for Public Administrators, and Executive Leadership for Nonprofit Organizations.

                 13. Dr. Stuart S. Brown, is currently a Professor of International Relations, Senior Research Associate of the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs, Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University. While Dr. Brown excels in topics such as International Economics, Macroeconomics, Financial Markets and the Emerging markets, he is also an expert on the Eastern European, especially Russian economy. He has served as head of research team and chief economist in major economic institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
